Real-time documentation together with the patient

In 2020 a group of BioMedical Design fellows observed a need for more real-time documentation in the surgical ward at Kolding hospital.

The documentation could also be improved by involving the patient more. The nurses and assistants in the ward also had several requests for improvements for their work environment.

In the autumn of 2021, our Open Innovation Officer Lone Stagsted Sillesen headed an accelerated innovation project with a group of clinicians from the department. The purpose of the project was to develop and test new solutions to address the needs. Two patient rooms were changed and equipped with everything needed to enable more real-time documentation, more patient involvement, and a better work environment.
